A senior UN official visiting Sri Lanka this month should inquire about the plight of ethnic Tamils and submit a report to the global body, DMK chief M Karunanidhi today said.
Responding to reports about UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillay's Lankan visit, he said Tamils all over the world were "eagerly anticipating that she will inquire about the alleged irregularities" ahead of elections in the Northern province besides that of relief assistance not reaching Tamils properly.
"I request that she should submit a report to the UN after inquiring in person the plight of Ealam Tamils," he said, responding to a set of queries in party organ 'Murasoli.
