The United Nations says two new sexual abuse allegations against international peacekeepers in Central African Republic have surfaced.

The secretary-general's spokesman Steffan Dujarric says the allegations from two underage children stem from incidents that allegedly took place in May. He said the allegations are being investigated.

Dujarric didn't release additional details Friday, including the nationalities of the peacekeepers.

The UN and various countries have come under growing criticism for sexual abuse by peacekeepers.

The world body has reported it is investigating more than 100 cases of sex abuse allegations against peacekeepers in CAR, where violence exploded in late 2013.
