The 30-year-old Irish singer had a change of mind with British rugby player fiance Ben Foden after they discovered that Afia means 'Born on Friday', reported The Sun online.
"I thought it was nice, but it means born on a Friday. It would be like I am obsessed with days of the week," Healy said.
They have named their eight-week-old daughter Aoife now, which means beauty.
Healy has said that her in-laws find it difficult to pronounce the name.
