"The process of regularisation of such colonies is a complex one. The government has overcome all difficulties in this regard," Dikshit said at a workshop organised to asses implementation of schemes under Bhagidari initiative.

She said government was taking steps to announce regularisation of maximum number of unauthorised colonies at one go.

A 50 member delegation of Bangladesh's Department of Local Self Government also attended this workshop to understand the Bhagidari programme which seeks to build bridges between the citizens and the government.

The Delhi government had issued provisional regularisation certificates (PRCs) to over 1,200 unauthorised colonies ahead of assembly polls in 2008 and is now in the process of regularising them.
