Officials have been asked to identify the unauthorised driving schools and take the required measure against them, Punjab Transport Minister Ajit Singh Kohar said in a statement here.
The Punjab government has undertaken several steps to provide quality driving training facilities to people, he said.
The minister said the government was committed to provide organised and systematic driving training.
There are more than 150 government approved driving institutions in the state, he said adding, about 3,500 people die in road mishaps in Punjab each year.
Systematic training would act as a vital tool to reduce road accidents in Punjab, he said.
