An unclaimed bag found lying in a road at Upper Chalsa in Jalpaiguri district today led to bomb scare with bomb squad rushing to the area but a search of the bag found no bombs in it, police said
Local people found a big bag lying in the road at Upper Chalsa in Mal Block of the district, the sources said.
As nobody claimed the bag, the local people informed the police about the bag. Police went to the spot and cordoned off the area and informed the bomb squad.
The bomb squad has rushed to the area and scanned the bag with a scanner. After opening the bag they found clothes in it, the sources added.
Security has been beefed up in Jalpaiguri district after the December 26 bomb blast which killed six persons.
