Three head constables of sub-jail here were suspended for alleged dereliction of duty following escape of two under-trials from the prison, police said today.
Under-trials Amandeep Kumar and Rajwinder Singh had escaped yesterday after throwing tea and peppers in the eyes of jail staff.
Pawan Kumar, who also tried to escape, was overpowered by the jail staff.

The suspended personnel include Harpal Singh, Mangat Singh and Kabul Singh, while under-trial Pawan Kumar has been arrested, they said.
Earlier, on the complaint of Deputy Superintendent Sub- jail Gurpreet Singh, police had booked the three head constables for dereliction of duty while the three under- trials, including the duo who had escaped, had also been booked under relevant provisions of law.
Amandeep was arrested on November 24 here on the charge of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means while Rajwinder of Samrai was arrested on November 29 by Government Railway Police in an Arms Act case.
Pawan was also arrested seven months ago in a theft case.
