Seeking to decongest the area and ease pedestrian movement in Karwal Nagar in north-east Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today ordered to construct an underpass and three foot-over-bridges (FOBs) in the constituency.

The move came after Sisodia went for an inspection in the constituency today.

According to officials, the minister directed Public Work Department (PWD) to construct an underpass at Khajuri chowk and make the project design after a survey.

"The area is very congested and vehicular movement is high so after the inspection he suggested to make an under pass and asked PWD to make its project design," Aam Aadmi Party MLA from the area Kapil Mishra told PTI.

"He also instructed to construct a foot-over-bridge at Nanaksar, Sri Ram colony and Bhajanpura as pedestrians have to cross road amid heavy traffic," Mishra said.

Sisodia also directed widening of Dayalpur to Shiv Vihar road.

"At present the road is 60 ft but to decongest the road and accommodate more vehicles he asked concerned department to widen it to 80 ft," Mishra said.

During the visit, Sisodia directed to identify land for three schools in the area and said provisions for the schools will be made under upcoming budget in June.
