The festival was organised in partnership with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation and VisitBritain.

British Deputy High Commissioner Julian Evans gave away awards to children who won in six different games such as football, tug-of-war and street cricket.

Earlier, the children demonstrated solidarity among nations by coming together in a six-team March Past and created an attractive visual formation "2012 is GREAT".

"If we can foster generations of children who embrace sport as a way of life and learn the lessons it teaches, India will reap many rewards as a result," Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra said.

"The Great British Sport Festival is the first step of that journey," he added. PTI CM
