"Incharge lockup to file a report by July 2," Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav said in a brief order on the complaint, forwarded to his court from the office of the district and sessions judge "for information and necessary action."

In his handwritten complaint, the undertrial prisoner had not named himself.

The complaint alleged that the police personnel deployed in the lock-up room and those on duty to produce the accused persons before the court allow undertrials to meet their family members inside the lock-up without the court's mandatory permission.

He said the meetings go on for an hour or more.

He also alleged that the police personnel charge Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 for permitting the undertrials to have home-cooked food with their family without any court order and the amount is distributed among various police personnel deployed in the lock-up.

The complaint also said that the certain policemen also provide their mobile phones to undertrials to make phone calls for illegal gratification.

The handwritten complaint was made to the office of District and Sessions Judge, which forwarded it to the CMM court for information and necessary action.
