Undertrial dies in jail; magisterial inquiry ordered

A 35-year-old undertrial died in the district jail here today, following which the authorities ordered a mandatory magisterial inquiry into it.

"After Rajaram Yadav vomitted blood in the morning at the jail he was rushed to the district hospital where the doctors pronounced him brought dead," Tikamgarh Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Nitesh Bhargav claimed.

He said that Yadav was in judicial custody since August 2 last year after Kharagapur police station booked him in a alleged loot incident.

Bhargav said the deceased hailed from Guna village under Kharagapur Police Station area.

A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the cause of Yadav's death, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Manoj Thakur said.
