The incident took place on Tuesday evening when Baldev Singh (30), a resident of Bhadaur village of Bathinda district, was being brought out of the court here, police said today.

He was brought from Faridkot jail to appear in a court here in connection with a case registered against him.

Baldev was arrested by Bhagapurana police on March 19 under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

A case has been registered against Head Constable Jarnail Singh and constable Baljtej Singh, who were escorting the undertrial, police said.
