An undertrial prisoner allegedly committed suicide in Central jail here this evening by hanging himself from a ceiling fan.
Ram Mahajan, a resident of Tibba Bazar Batala was lodged in the jail two months ago in a dowry case, police said.
He was lodged in the barrack number 20 where he allegedly committed suicide.
A probe has been ordered in this connection, Jail Superintendent D K Sidhu said.
