Undertrial prisoner dies

undertrial prisoner died at the police cell of Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, the police said today.

Fifty-five-year-old Munsi Safiur Rahaman died last night when his health condition deteriorated. He was admitted to the hospital on December 20.

Rahaman, a local CPI-M leader of Raina in Burdwan district, was arrested on September 21 after a clash between CPI-M cadre with Trinamool Congress supporters where one TC supporter was killed.
