Undertrial prisoner dies due to heart attack

An undertrial prisoner of Mathura district jail died of heart attack today, police said.

Mohan Singh (40) was admitted to the jail hospital after he complained of severe pain in his chest. He was rushed to the District hospital as the pain continued," Jail Superintendent P D Salonia said.

But, he was declared "brought dead" when he was brought at the district hospital, CMS of the hospital said.

An accused under Sections 364, 420 of IPC 420 and Section 25 Arms Act, Singh was sent to jail on July 26, 2014, Salonia said.

The body has been sent for post mortem, he said.
