Undertrial prisoner found hanging in Ajmer Central Jail

The body of an undertrial inmate was today found hanging from a tree in Ajmer Central Jail.

The accused, Sanjeev Punjabi, resident of Hisar in Haryana, was sent to jail on May 29 after he was booked by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide, police said.

The body has been kept in Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, they said, adding the family members of the deceased have been informed about the incident.

Post mortem will be conducted once the family members reach Ajmer, police said.

Further investigation in the matter is on, they added.
