An undertrial sitting in a police van was shot at by a rival gang member outside the Tis Hazari court here today, police said.
The undertrial has been admitted to a hospital.
Dinesh, suspected to be a member of the Gogi gang operating in Delhi-NCR, was brought to the court from Rohtak Jail by the Haryana Police for appearance during the hearing of a case.
The incident happened near the gate number 2 of the court premises when he was siting in the Haryana Police vehicle, they added.
Police said that the assailant, a minor, has been apprehended after a brief chase.
Police suspect that the minor is a member of the Tillu gang.
A probe has begun.
