An undertrial prisoner was allegedly tortured in police custody with complaints in the matter prompting the DIG to order an inquiry into the incident, police said today.
Balvir, an undertrial in a murder case, has been sent in a serious condition to a hospital in Agra with his family members alleging that Awagarh police had last week subjected him to torture and also administered an injection filled with petrol to his private parts.
After a complaint filed by Balvir's family members yesterday, DIG Prakash D has ordered an inquiry into the allegations.
