A 35-year-old undertrial prisoner who had last week escaped from the premises of a court in south Mumbai, was Monday arrested in suburban Andheri, the police said.

The accused Yogesh Darji had given police the slip after he was produced in the court on November 3 in connection with a cheating case registered against him in September last year, a police official said.

He was then lodged in the Thane Central prison, he said.

Darji was booked under section 224 (Resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), he said.
