A 24-year-old unemployed woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous liquid at Saraswati colony here, police said today.
Shweta Singh, who was married to an engineer, consumed the liquid last night following which she was admitted to Mohan Nagar hospital for treatment but she died today, Assistant Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada said.
As per her father's statement given to the police, Shweta was under depression because of unemployment.
Just after Shweta got married, her husband Ashok left her here with her parents and joined his job in Pune, he said.
The body has sent been for postmortem but no FIR has been lodged with the police.
