Unidentified body found in Palghar

A body of a man who was allegedly gagged to death was found at a field in Tarapur area of the district, police said today.

Upon getting information, police reached the field in Parnali Khatavali hamlet under Tarapur police station limits yesterday and found the body of a man, around 25-30 years of age, whose hands were tied with a nylon rope and nose and mouth gagged with a cello tape, assistant police inspector D A Shelar said.

Shelar said prime facie it appeared that the man was gagged to death after which the body was dumped in the field.
 

The deceased had the words 'VSK' tattooed on one of his arms and a locket with a picture of Saibaba was found around his neck, he said.

A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and a manhunt launched to nab the killers, he said.
