Unidentified man booked in fake note case

An unidentified man was today booked for using fake note in denomination of Rs 2,000 here, police said.

Complainant Sunil Sood, a printing owner claimed that a man who purchased bill books from him gave a note of Rs 2,000. Soon returned Rs 1,650 after deducting bill amount of Rs 350.

Later, he found the note to be a fake one.

Investigation officer Sukhdev Singh said the police have registered a case against unidentified person under relevant sections including 420 of the IPC.

In another case, police said an unidentified man duped a shopkeeper dealing in electronics items by giving fake note of Rs 2,000 in Moga.
 

The accused had bought a tea cattle from him, police said.

A case under relevant sections including 420, 469 (forgery) and 489-C (possession of forged or counterfeit currency-notes or bank-notes) of the IPC was registered, police said.

Police said a team has been formed to trace the accused.
