The body of an unknown person, suspected to be a resident of Andhra Pradesh, was recovered from near Jagannathpur village in Ghatsila sub-division today, police said.

Based on the injury mark on his body, it seemed the victim was strangulated elsewhere two/three days ago and the body was dumped in a field near National Highway 33, Officer-in-charge of Ghatsila police station Anup Prasad said.

Referring to the identify of the victim, Prasad said "Though we have recovered an Aadhar card from near the spot the photograph on it did not match with the victim, which led police to suspect it may be an attempt to mislead police.

The card bore the name of one Tamanna Sambha Murty, Son of Satyanaryana and address was mentioned as 9-2-75, Laxminagar, Amadalavalasa,, Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh).

The year of birth on the card was mentioned as 1931, he said.

A ligature mark around his neck and injury mark behind his head suggested that the person was murdered couple of days ago as the body was decomposed, he said adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem at M G M Hospital here.
