A group of unidentified persons have allegedly ransacked a toll booth at Ninora village in the district and also assaulted its staffers, police said today.

The incident took place last night when the attackers, about 40-50 in numbers with their faces covered with mask, ransacked Mahakal toll plaza damaging property worth Rs 8 lakh, Nanakheda Police Station In-charge, Vivek Gupta said.

They also beat up the staff there, who somehow managed to flee the spot.

Toll plaza manager Prashant Rathi said this is the second incident of violence at the booth in the last two months.

Police said there are similarities between the two incidents.

"We are trying to identify them on the basis of CCTV footage and have registered a case against unidentified persons in this regard," Gupta added.
