Ravindra, of Gadana village, was attacked on November 12 on his way back home from work by a gang of armed assailants who robbed the victim of Rs 1,500, police sources said.
The victim's mother approached Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Kumar and alleged that Modinagar police did not register a case and even tried to cover up the crime.
Taking cognisance of the charges alleged against the police officials, the SSP has directed Station-in-charge Rajesh Pandey to investigate into the case.
Ravindra is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital here.
