Unidentified persons booked for forging docs on MMRDA's name

Unidentified persons have been booked on charges of cheating for allegedly forging documents on the name of MMRDA in order to take building construction permission from the District Collectorate, police said today.

In its complaint lodged on Saturday, MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) alleged that some unidentified persons forged NA (non agricultural) land certificate and construction permission, documents on the name of MMRDA, an official of Thane Nagar police station said.

The complaint stated that the forged documents showed that MMRDA has issued the two permissions for a 1 lakh sq mts land in Ambernath here in January, 2011, the official said.
 

This fake documents were submitted at the office of the Assistant Director, Town Planning at Thane Collectorate and obtained construction permission, the complaint stated.

An offence under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery, 468 (forgery with intention of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged) has been registered in this connection.

No arrest has been made yet and further probe into the matter was on, the official said.
