Unidentified persons allegedly "fired shots" at an SUV in which a woman MLA was travelling with her staff at a toll plaza in Sikandra near Dausa district, police said today.

The incident occurred last night when BJP MLA Rajkumari Jatav was on her way to Jaipur from Hindon, they said, adding that no one was injured in the incident.

The MLA complained that a "bullet-like thing" hit the car's front door on passenger side, they said, adding that she approached the Sikandra police immediately after the incident.

On the basis of her complaint, an FIR was lodged under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and 325 of the Arms act against unidentified persons, they said.

Jatav also informed Rajasthan Home Minister G C Kataria and the Dausa Superintendent of Police about the incident. An investigation is on into the matter, they said.
