Unidentified persons today snatched a service rifle from a policeman, posted as guard outside a bank in Kulgam district in Kashmir, by sprinkling chilli powder on his face.
Three "unidentified persons" sprinkled chilli powder on the face of Constable Zahid Ahmad at main chowk of Kulgam district headquarter town at around 12.30 pm, a police official said.
He said the miscreants snatched the cop's rifle as he lay on the ground "blinded" by the chilli effect.
The constable was posted as guard outside a bank branch in the south Kashmir town.
