: The body of an unidentified
woman, aged between 25-30, was found under a culvert in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district on Tuesday, police said.
Some locals noticed the body in naked condition and alerted the police.
Based on preliminary investigation, police said it seems some unidentified people killed the woman by strangulation at some other place, dumped the body and hit the head with a boulder apparently to conceal her identity.
"Some local residents informed the police that the body of an unidentified woman with injury marks and without clothes was found in the culvert," the police said.
"Our teams reached the spot and took up investigation. A dog squad was also taken to the scene," they said.
CCTV footage was being verified, they said.
Teams were also verifying from nearby farmhouses and resorts if any woman checked out or if any woman was reported missing.
Asked if the woman was sexually assaulted, the police said it would be known only after a medical examination.
A case of murder has been registered, they said.
