Unidentified youths loot Rs 1.5 lakh in Rajasthan

Two motorcycle-borne youths today looted Rs 1.5 lakh from a man near Bypass road here under city kotwali police station limits, police said.

The incident took place this afternoon when two bike- borne youths snatched the money from Madan Lal Sharma, a resident of Basoli village, who was returning after withdrawing money from the bank, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat said.

A case has been registered against unidentified youths in connection with the case, Shekhawat said.

The footage of CCTV cameras installed at the bank is being looked into and an alert has been sounded at all the check posts in the district.
 

In another incident in the district today, two youths snatched a gold chain from a woman while she was at her home in posh Maduvan colony in Sadar area.

Two youths snatched the gold chain of Kalpna Goyal (30) when they had stopped at her house on the pretext of inquiring an address from her.

The chain weighs about 20-24 grams, Shekhawat added.

A case has been lodged against the unidentified youths in Sadar police station.

The accused, in both incidents, are different as per the description provided by the victims, the DSP said.

Some youths suspected to be involved in these incidents of loot have been rounded up and are being questioned, he said.
