In what turned out to be another embarrassment for the controversy-ridden Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA), its joint secretary Vivek Gupta was not allowed to attend the BCCI Working Committee meeting as he went there uninvited.
It was confirmed that no DDCA office-bearer authorised Gupta to attend the BCCI Conclave but he allegedly tagged along with a senior state association official, who is also an office-bearer of the BCCI.
As per rules, DDCA being a Permanent Test Centre can have a representative at the Working Committee meeting but since senior official CK Khanna as the vice-president (Central Zone) is a permanent invitee, convention has been not to send anyone else.

"I never authorised Vivek Gupta on behalf of DDCA to attend the meeting. I don't know anything as no letter was written by me," DDCA general secretary Anil Khanna told PTI today.
When Gupta was asked as to how he went to represent DDCA, he couldn't give a convincing reply.
"I went there for sightseeing," was all Gupta said before he snapped the call.
It has been learnt, when Gupta tried to check-in at the 'Hotel Pavilion' in Dharamsala, where all officials were booked for stay, he was informed that his name is not in the list of boarders.
"Gupta tagged along with a senior BCCI office-bearer, who had promised him that if he could attend the meeting, his DA and TA would be paid by BCCI. But it was embarrassing as his name was not in the BCCI's list of state association representatives and he was not eligible to attend the WC meeting. Over and above, he also had to pay his own hotel bills," a BCCI official, who was present there, said.
