Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla today termed the Union Budget as "people friendly". as it focuses on women, agriculture and health sector.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for focusing on backward region of the country, Heptulla said the budget has given emphasis to the health sector which is of much necessity to the North East region.
She hoped more new hospitals would be established in the region.
The governor said the popular slogan "Beti Bachao, Bedi Padao" should be taken further to "Beti ko job bhi dilao".
She also stressed on skill-development training so that more people get jobs.
