Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami today reviewed the process related to the implementation of the AP Reorganisation Act-2014 creating Telangana state and directed government officials to put everything in place by the appointed date June 2 for enabling functioning of the two states.

"Do everything with a humane consideration. See that everything goes smoothly and does good to everybody," Goswami told top bureaucrats of the state at a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat.

Chief Secretary Prasanna Kumar Mohanty, Special Secretary in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs Rajiv Sharma, Joint Secretary Suresh Kumar and Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of the state government attended the meeting.

Goswami and his team is on a two-day visit to Hyderabad from today to review the process related to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and creation of Telangana state.

Later, the Union Home Secretary and his team drove to the Raj Bhavan for an interaction with Governor E S L Narasimhan.

Officials, who attended the review meeting at the Secretariat, said Goswami "endorsed" the approach taken by the state chief secretary for completing formalities related to the bifurcation.

The chief secretary constituted an apex committee and 18 sub-committees to look into various issues like distribution of employees, among others, as part of the bifurcation.

"He is very satisfied that everything is going on well. He wanted us to complete everything by the appointed day when two governments are supposed to start functioning," a Principal Secretary said after the meeting.

"But our chief secretary's objective is to complete everything by the end of April and we are working accordingly. The various committees have already completed three meetings," he added.
