: The functioning of Telangana police and the technology initiatives taken by them came in for praise from Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir Tuesday.
The minister, who visited Punjagutta police station here, was briefed about the IT initiatives and various gadgets there by Director General of Police M Mahendar Reddy and city Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar
Ahir also interacted with senior police officials and other personnel.
The union minister said the police station was an example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to have smart policing and police stations.
The facilities in the police station, investigation procedure, citizen interface space in the station, police personnel fitness centre and new technology like CCTVs showed the means of policing approach to prevent crime, he said.
"Good work is being done for crime control. Crime against women has reduced in the state in the last four years," Ahir told reporters.
The DGP, speaking to reporters, said the Minister noted the details of women safety measures implemented in the state like SHE teams and community partnership programmes.
"The changes brought in the city police will be implemented across all police stations in the state," he said.
