Marking the 150th birth anniversary of poet Rajanikanta Sen, two leading performing artistes today traced the 'Kanto Kobi's influence on Bengali mindscape in a unique fusion of songs and recitals.

'Premer Gan Premer Kabita' comprises the lesser known works of Rajanikanta.

"It is our humble homage to legendary Poet Rajnikant Sen with Bratati Bandyopadhyay lending her voice as elocutionist," popular singer Riddhi Bandyopadhyay, who conceptualised the show, said.

An encrypted silver coin of Rajnikanta was launched on the occasion by a leading jewellery house on the evening attended by former MP and Ex-Vice Chancellor of Calcutta University Bharati Roy.

Since any effort to present the rich musical legacy of Bengal would be incomplete without the literary works of Dwijendralal Roy and Atulprasad, we made it a song-recital collage and no presentation can be complete without Nazrulgeeti and Rabindrasangeet, as Tagore is part of our psyche," she said.
