Intermittent rains since early morning affected normal life in the city today, as the Meteorological department forecast more downpour in Gangetic West Bengal till tomorrow owing to a low pressure.
The depression over the north-west Bay of Bengal, off the Odisha coast, moved north-eastwards and weakened into a well- marked low pressure area off the north OdishaWest Bengal coast, the Met department said today.
Due to its effect, a heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal till tomorrow, it added.

Meanwhile, the day-long shower affected normal life in Kolkata and its neighbourhood with school children and officegoers having a tough time reaching their destinations.
Day temperatures were significantly lower in Gangetic West Bengal with Kolkata recording 25.6 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.
The coastal town of Digha recorded the day's high at 23.5 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal, while at Diamond Harbour, it was 25.1 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal.
There were traffic snarls at various places in the city owing to the rain.
