Unseeded Myneni beats sixth seed Murugesan in ITF opener

Myneni defeated Murugesan 6-3 6-4 in his tournament opener.

Among others, tt was a mixed day for HPTC's Vinod Gowda and qualifier Sagar Manjanna.

Wild card entrant Gowda outplayed local lad Suraj R Prabodh 6-2 6-2 in 53 minutes, while Manjanna lost 3-6 3-6 to Australian rival Zach Itzstein.

Top seed Ti Chen of Chinese Taipei also had no difficulty in disposing another wild card entrant Shahbaaz Khan 6-2 6-2 in just about an hour.

Third seeded Vijayant Malik, the runner up at ITF Mandya Open, also started positively, beating French man Sebastien Boltz 6-3 6-2 in an absorbing baseline tussle in 83 minutes.
