Two students drowned while bathing in Sharda canal here, the police said today.
"Around eight students were bathing in the canal, when four of them were swept away," Circle officer of Powaya Jitendra Kumar said.
"The villagers were able to save two students, while the bodies of Anuj (16) and Sameer (18) were fished out by divers," he said, adding a case has been registered and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
