Three members of a family were killed when a pick up van hit them near Marhad police station area here , the police said today.
Nandlal Yadav (59), his daughter-in-law Santara Devi (41) and grandson Sujit (2) had yesterday gone to the Barhi bazar for shopping when the pick up van hit them , they said.
According to an official, while trying to flee from the spot, the driver hit two other pedestrians on the road.
While Yadav and his family members succumbed to injuries in the hospital, one of the two injured has been referred to a hospital in Varanasi for further treatment.
He said police is investigating the matter for further details.
