The Uttar Pradesh State Advisory Board will hear on Wednesday two cases registered against two BJP MLAs under the National Security Act (NSA) during Muzaffarnagar riots, officials said here today.

The two MLAs Sangeet Som and Suresh Rana were booked for their alleged role in spreading communal violence in Muzaffarnagar.

Meanwhile, the one-member inquiry commission of retired Justice Vishnu Sahai constituted by the UP government to probe the recent violence has visited riot-hit places Malikapura and Shamli yesterday. Sahai also met the affected people in Shamli.

The commission, constituted on September 9, will mainly look into administrative lapses, if any, in controlling the violence, and will submit its report to the government within two months. Justice Vishnu Sahai is a retired judge of the Allahabad High Court.

The last month's communal clashes in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas have claimed 62 lives and displaced over 40,000 people.

The jurisdiction of Commission has also been extended inquiry to Meerut, Saharanpur, Baghpat and Shamli districts.
