UP bag three points in drawn Ranji game against Baroda

Uttar Pradesh bagged three points on back of their first innings lead in a drawn Group A Ranji Trophy game against Baroda at the Gold Club ground here.

UP, who were put into bat, made 481 in the first innings. Baroda were bundled out for 458 in the first innings as the Suresh Raina led side managed to take a 23 runs lead.

UP, who resumed their second innings on 117/0, added 300 more runs to the total before declaring it on 417/3, as the opposition bowlers were taken to task.

Opener Shivam Choudhary made a patient 124 off 225 balls, a knock comprising 17 boundaries and a six. He was ably supported by Almas Shaukat, who made a gritty 91 before being caught by wicket-keeper Viraj Bhosale.
 

The duo stitched a 197 run stand for the opening wicket. One down Akshdeep Nath also frustrated the Baroda bowlers as he brought up his ton and remained unbeaten on 107 off 142 balls.

Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 83 on a pitch assisting the batsman.

For Baroda, Rishi Arothe picked up two wickets.
