UP CM asks officials to help flood hit people

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today asked the officials concerned to take effective steps for locating and ensuring safe return of people of the state hit by the devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir.

The chief minister has given directions for making all necessary arrangements for extending relief and security of the people hit by floods besides round-the-clock operation of control rooms set up in the relief commissioner's office and the home department here and setting up help desks at New Delhi railway station, a government release said.

The chief minister has said arrangements should be made for free conveyance from Ajmeri Gate and Delhi bus stations for the affected people to their respective destinations and treatment for those sick by doctors at the UP Sadan and UP Bhawan in Delhi, the release said.
 

Besides, the chief minister also issued a direction that Rs 2,000 should be provided as immediate monetary help to the affected people, the release added.
