UP CM expressed grief over 9 CRPF jawans' death in CG, announces financial assistance

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today expressed grief over the death of CRPF jawans in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district and announced Rs 25 lakh financial assistance each to the families of killed personnel.

Nine CRPF personnel were today killed after Maoists blasted their mine protected vehicle using over 50 kgs of explosives in Sukma, about a year after a dozen jawans were killed in a similar ambush in the district.

A government spokesperson today said, "Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth has expressed grief over the death of CRPF jawans in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district."

Saluting the martyrdom of the jawans, he has paid tributes to them, and also conveyed his condolence the bereaved families, the spokesperson said.
 

The UP chief minister announced Rs 25 lakh financial assistance to the family members of the martyred jawans.

"Of this, Rs 20 lakh will be given to the wife of the martyred jawan, while Rs 5 lakh will be given to the parents. On the directives of the chief minister, respective district in-charge ministers will visit the residence of the martyred jawans, and offer condolence," the UP government spokesperson said.

In today's attack, CRPF jawans from the state - Manoj Singh (Ballia), Shobit Kumar Sharma (Ghaziabad) and Dharmendra Singh (Mau) were killed.
