UP CM stresses on farm growth at mega industrial launch

Stressing on inclusive growth, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today underlined his government's commitment to development of farmers as he has launched projects worth over Rs 3,000 crore for state industrial authorities.

"Without the progress of farmers, development of the state would be incomplete and this is the responsibility of the Samajwadi Party government," the CM said after laying the foundation stone and inaugurating 13 important projects worth Rs 3,347 crore in Noida, greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway industrial authorities.

"The SP government will work on urbanisation and also strive hard (to see) how the lot of farmers can be improved," Akhilesh added.
 

Responding to a question on whether the government would bring in a land acquisition policy, the CM said that any decision in that regard would be taken keeping in mind the interests of farmers.

"We would want that farmers too become partners in development and do not face any court cases," Akhilesh said, adding that the cases lodged against the farmers of Tappal and Bhatta Parsaul who had taken part in protests against forced land acquisition during the previous regime had been withdrawn by the SP government.

Talking about economic growth, the CM said that in order to ensure development of the entire state, the government has decided to setting up an Infrastructure Development Fund which would be financed by excess resources available with some of the richer development authorities like Noida, greater noida and Lucknow development authorities.

The CM said that his government would also open a single window clearance system for ending corruption in investments.

Describing as important the development of areas surrounding the national capital New Delhi, the CM said that most of UP's investments and projects were also located in the said zone.

Earlier, addressing the function, state PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said that while paying attention to the state's investments and development, adequate care is must be taken to ensure that the deprived, too, benefited from these.

On dairy development, he said that Amul had been invited to the state for furthering growth in the sector.

"The government has also brought a scheme for helping those setting up a dairy with 100 cows/buffalo's," the CM said in reply to a question.
