The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) has cancelled a 'Roza-Iftar' programme that was scheduled tomorrow without citing any reasons.
The party had earlier distributed over 400 invitations for the event which was to be held at a prominent hotel here.
"The roza-iftar programme which was scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled," Congress leader Dwijendra Tripathi told PTI.

However party sources indicated that the decision could have been taken as the party's UP incharge Ghulam Nabi Azad would have been unable to turn up for the event due to his engagements in Delhi in the wake of the presidential polls.
As 'Alwida-ki-namaz' (last Friday of Ramzan) is on June 23, this year a roza-iftar by the party is unlikely, a party source said.
On June 19, Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav had hosted a roza-iftar at his party's headquarters here.
For the past five years, Akhilesh, a former chief minister, was holding roza-iftars at his official 5, Kalidas Marg residence here.
The SP has been holding iftars since its formation in 1992.
The Yogi Adityanath government has done away with the practice of holding official roza-iftars held at the CM's residence.
