Demanding immediate roll back of recent power tariff hike in Uttar Pradesh, Congress today staged protest dharnas at all the district headquarters of the state.
UPCC chief Nirmal Khatri, who led the protest in Ambedkarnagar district, flayed the hike in power tariff and demanded its immediate roll back.
Lashing out at the Akhilesh government for the prevailing "goondaraj" in the state, Khatri blamed the SP government for sheltering criminals.

Similar protests were staged at all the district headquarters in the state including Varanasi, Jaunpur, Faizabad, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Badaun, Gazipur, Moradabad, Amroha, Sitapur, Azamgarh, Siddhartnagar,Balrampur, Gonda, Bahraich and Lucknow among others, a Congress release issued here said.
The protesters also handed over a memorandum to the respective district officials addressed to the governor demanding roll back of power tariff hike.
The state government has hiked the power tatriff on October 1.
