UP declares public holiday on Charan Singh's birth anniversary

The Uttar Pradesh government today declared December 23 a public holiday to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chowdhury Charan Singh, official sources said here.

The state government has issued orders regarding the public holiday, they said. Banks and treasuries would, however, remain open on the day, they added.
