All police chiefs have been asked by DGP Ambrish Chandra to take all necessary steps to maintain law and order and communal peace during the upcoming festival season, a home department spokesman said.
They have been asked to initiate all necessary steps like deployment of police force as per their requirement, he said.
These directives have been issued in view of the coming festivals of Navratri/ Durga puja/ Dusshera, Id-ul-zuha and Diwali.
