Employees of the Uttar Pradesh electricity department launch a three-phase protest from August 22 against the delay in implementing the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations.
"The state government is not implementing its written commitment to implement the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations with effect from July 2017," Shailendra Dubey, Sangharsh Samiti convener, told reporters here today.
Dubey sought the intervention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and power minister Srikant Sharma to solve their predicament.

"The Samiti has chalked out a three-tier agitation to press for its demands," Dubey said. In the first phase, 15 labour unions will meet in Lucknow on August 22.
In the second phase, protesters will stage dharnas at various district headquarters and power plants on Aug 30 between 10 am to 5 pm. An indefinite agitation will start from September 12 in case their demands are not met, he added.
Some of the other demands of the Samiti include merging all the power corporations, not closing public-sector power plants for the sake of purchasing power from the private sector and direct payment to contractual workers.
