Uttar Pradesh government has set up a special cell to collect information about people from the state who have gone missing in the devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir and coordinate for extending help to them.
The cell has been set up in the communalism control cell of the Home department here and a nodal officer has also been appointed for it, Principal Secretary (Home) Neeraj Gupta said today.
At the district level, the work relating to information collection, verification and coordination will be done by the respective District Magistrates, Gupta said.

On the basis of the collected information, a database will be prepared at the state level also, he said, adding that those providing information are expected to give all details of the missing persons, if possible, along with photographs.
Among other things, they should also provide information about when the missing persons were last contacted, he said.
